Introducing It’s In Plain Sight; Calling All Creeps
Hello there everyone 🙂. I hope everyone has been trying their best to be productive, in these crazy times we live in. It’s truly an amazing, yet emotionally intense time to be on the planet. Today I want to introduce a new category on Taran Station. I’m going to call this new addition “It’s In Plain Sight”. Every now and agin, we all have to laugh, and have some fun with even the most ridiculous of situations, and lets be honest… Earth is full of them currently.
As such I decided to have a little fun. Going forward, posts listed in the “It’s In Plain Sight” category, will focus on things that have always been in front of our faces. They wont’t focus on every example of a particular topic, but rather one that I found interesting. We all share a collective consciousness. Therefore we all pick up on truths, that we think are from our imagination or are fiction. Though many times we are simply remembering our “past”, and expressing it in creative ways.
In this article, I have some fun with one of the most controversial topics that has seen increasing interest in recent years…. The Reptilians…. And in this example specifically how they showed up in the original Goosebump series.
Goosebumps…Calling All Creeps
When I was growing up in the 90’s, I loved the Goosebumps book series by R.L. Stein. I was one of those kids, who liked everything creepy. I remember when the first book in the series “Welcome To Dead House” was published. I literally walked around with the book, and my friends and I always were ready for the next one in the series. In fact, when I was in grammar school, you had to move quickly if you wanted to find the latest books in the library. As kids would be quick to check them out.
Eventually the TV series came out, and I would watch It constantly. As you may know, the series is still fairly popular today, and even recently the series was rebooted on Disney. Though it is much different than the original from the 90’s. There has also been a couple movies released over the years. Needless to say, Goosebumps has been around for the better part of three decades.
It’s In Plain Sight…… Goosebumps and Reptilians
Let’s be honest, the Reptilian theme has been around for a long time in our culture. From the religious, to pop-culture. When I was growing up, my first exposure to the Reptilians came in the form of odd things I said at a very young age. I called them the “Dinosaur People” growing up, and I was so young that I had no reference point for logically coming up with that term.
I was on the school playground, when I stopped what I was doing, and looked at one of my friends saying something along the lines of “The dinosaur people are watching”. Creepy right! Yes, this was after I started having psychic experiences, and was able to pick up on unseen influences.
As I got a little older, I got interested in UFOs and Aliens, and had a Sightings CD Rom that my friends and I interacted with almost religiously. But these are topics for another time. I want to stick to the topic at hand.
Calling All Creeps was released in 1996, and focused on a character “Rickey Beamer” who was constantly picked on in school by an antagonist named “Tasha McClain”. To get even, he decided to publish a message in the school newspaper saying, “Calling all creeps. Calling all creeps. If you’re a real creep, call Tasha at 555-xxxx after midnight.” I’m not going to put the full number in this post, as I don’t want people thinking it would be funny to call.
However, unknown to him, Tasha catches the message, and changes the message to Ricky’s number. And that’s when the trouble starts. Ricky starts getting calls at night by “The Creeps”, and finally discovers that a bunch of kids in his school are really Reptilian Aliens in disguise.
The Reptilian Scheme In Goosebumps
As I mentioned above, sometimes we just have to laugh 😂 and have fun. I’m not going to give a full review of Calling All Creeps, but I will say this. In the book, the reptilian’s master plan is to contaminate the chocolate chip cookies in the school cafeteria, which will transform anyone who eats them into a Creep (A Reptilian).
Ricky and one of his friends wants to subvert the plan, but at the end of the book, no one believes Ricky and the whole cafeteria makes fun of him. As a result he decides to let them eat the contaminated cookies, and does so himself. Resulting in the school being transformed into Reptilians. This is where the Goosebumps story comes to an end. Ironic right, Ricky gives into the Reptilians, and becomes a leader of them (it’s assumed, read to book).
This has to be one of my favorite books in the series, mostly because I believe Stein probably tapped into something in the collective subconscious when sitting the book. Or perhaps he knew about the Reptilian theme in pop-culture and used it.
Although I think it’s important to note, that I don’t think the Reptilian plan is to contaminate school chocolate chip cookies 🍪 😂. Let’s dig into the Reptilians a little more shall we.
It’s In Plain Sight….Some Personal Thoughts
Goosebumps isn’ the only pop-culture reference to Reptilians. There has been number of them over the decades, with the T.V. show V probably being one of the most iconic. Where Goosebumps is unique (in my opinion of course), is it introduced the concept to a younger crowd during 90’s, when hardly anyone was talking about them.
Sure David Icke was out there talking about them, and books such as Barbara Marciniak’s “Bringers of The Dawn” was published in the early 90’s. Both of which I wouldn’t know about for many years to come. These days, It seems everyone who wants to talk about paranormal or metaphysical concepts mentions the Reptilians. This is especially the case in the UFO world. Some people take the topic seriously, but many people still mock it.
I don’t want this post to be a long rant on Reptilians. I want these “It’s in plain site” posts to be short and sweet. Like most of my other articles 😂. And I want to keep the post on topic, which in this case is related to the Goosebumps book “Calling All Creeps”.
That being the case, If you’ve never read the book or seen the Goosebumps episode, you can checkout the content below if you’d like. Or if you are familiar, you can take a look too if you want to take a stroll down memory lane. One thing is for sure, there are many references in pop-culture, that relate to our situation on Earth currently. And they go far beyond contaminated chocolate chip cookies hahahahah. But again we need to laugh and have some fun with this type of content.
I’ve hope you’ve enjoyed episode One of….. It’s In Plain Sight 🙂.
